Large Head Calla Lily

There is a difference between "Standard" callas and "Miniature" callas. Miniatures are the blooms that come in so many different colors. Their stems can actually measure as long as the classic standard callas. But the miniatures have thinner stems and smaller heads.

These colored callas usually have stems that measure approximately from 12 to 24 inches. Their flower heads can meausre up to 4 inches long.

The miniatures do not need time to open like the larger, standard calls do. Miniatures come in a large assortment of colors, including hues of white, creamy ivory, soft lavenders, pinks, purples, rose, reds, yellows, peaches and multi oranges. The smaller miniatures are wonderful for wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, smaller vase arrangements and reception centerpieces.

The larger standard callas are used as arm bouquets with usually only three to five stems. Their stems are so large that they would overwhelm a bride if more were used.
